Buying a Television can be a rather costly and tricky decision. Your choice largely depends on what you need the television for. Do you enjoy gaming regularly and require high quality graphics? Or Do you simply want to enjoy a movie where the ease of navigating through content platforms and configurable audio modes are within reach? Ideally, you would want something versatile that is suitable for different uses. For many people, before you start looking for a product recommendation, you might want to know first what to look for and at what price. In other words, given a limited budget for a TV, how can you get the most out of it?

What to look for?

For a start, television image quality is the most decisive factor in concern. Ideally, you might want to look for a television with 4K (aka Ultra-HD) resolution. Additionally, QLED display is another plus as it enhances color visualization by offering a wider range of colors than standard LED display. Generally speaking, these features are often integrated in larger screen sizes which are more expensive. Fortunately, there are a bunch of options with a reasonably large screen size for budget shoppers.

Our Product Recommendation

The CHiQ U43QM8E is a great candidate. With a 43-inch screen size, it serves a great purpose for watching films and gaming. Its 4K resolution and QLED imagery provide users with high-caliber visuals. It is a Smart Google TV, which not only connects easily with other Google devices and apps, but also with other content platforms such as Netflix and Amazon Prime, enabling you to find content you like with ease. Another fancy addition is the ability to change between different audio settings tailored to different uses such as 'Night' or 'News' Modes. Most importantly, it comes at a very affordable price of approximately 330 Euros (~ 365 US $) making it rather value-for-money.

Comparison with other Brands

To put our recommendation into perspective, we have assembled a small collection of other 43-inch televisions from renowned brands with which we compare the prices and our estimated performance quality ratings. In the chart below, we provide this comparison. The CHiQ is marked in red.

The other televisions we consider here are the Samsung QE43Q60C, Hisense 43A6K, TCL 43P61B, Sony KD-KD-43X75WL and LG 43UR78006LK. Among these five, the Samsung is the only one equipped with QLED. Despite a similar quality rating, it costs more than a 100 Euros more. The Sony, on the other hand, may have a slightly higher quality rating, but costs almost 600 Euros rendering it unsuitable for budget buyers. The remaining three do not surpass the CHiQ in overall quality, while lacking QLED technology and costing more.
