Gaming is an underestimated passion for many. It is also an expensive hobby. You often have to spend a lot of money buying new games, gifts and accessories. Your best "support" - yes this is a gaming reference - lies in finding equipment that does not consume your budget rapidly. Having access to budget-friendly gaming devices is a huge perk. In Gadkits, we have a few ideas about where to find some like a gaming laptop. Gaming laptops are generally expensive devices due to the premium components they require. However, we have a solution for that.
What to look for?
Previously, we wrote a blog about what to look for when buying a personal laptop. The bottom message of it was that a good processor and display complemented by durable components should do it. With gaming laptops, there are a couple more notable specs. A premium graphic card is needed to process the detailed gaming graphics along with sufficient disk storage for downloading many games locally. Additionally, you would also need fast and stable connection to avoid disruptions when playing online. Additionally, advanced cooling mechanisms through fans are desired to prevent over-heating associated with the compute overhead of gaming. Optimized audio and camera input are surely a plus, especially for streamers. Lastly, access to numerous ports for the different accessories is a game-changer.
Our Product Recommendation
What we mentioned above can be found in many gaming laptops. The real question is how many of these are offered at a reasonably affordable price? Our product recommendation answers this. We present the Nitro V Gaming Laptop with NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 GPU. Its powerful processor, which is usually an Intel Core-i series or an AMD Ryzen, comes with 16GB of DDR5 RAM that makes it very convenient for multi-tasking and loading data-intensive gaming tasks quickly. It has a great GPU that is suitable even for the latest games, and includes a 15.6-inch Full HD display with a 144Hz refresh rate for supreme graphics. Its hard disk storage starts at 512 GB, but we do recommend the 1 TB option for obvious reasons. And if this not enough, you can always upgrade to models with more RAM and disk storage as well as better processors, although this comes at a bigger price!
Now, we discuss the hardcore gaming features. The Wifi 6 support and gigabit ethernet spots seamless online connectivity. Moreover, Acer's innovative duals fans and exhaust systems prevent overheating well enough. This is an important consideration as overheating may degrade other laptop components over time. What we find most enjoyable about this is the NitroSense interface that adjusts the fan power, as well as the immersive back-lighting of its keyboard, giving you the set-up that you like. As for the streamers, the optimized camera and microphone from Acer's PurifiedView and PurifiedVoice secure the best audio and video input for everyone in the lobby to see and hear you. Lastly, its equipped with numerous ports of which the most prominent is the Thunderbolt 4 for power-charging and efficient data transfer with other devices. This is alongside 3 USB ports, an HDMI port, the ethernet port and jacks for a headset, speaker and an AC adapter. Starting price is around 900$ in the US and 1200 Euros in Europe. You can find a good refurbished one for around 800 Euros (or 750$ in the US). While it is not your typical budget buy, we definitely think that it is value-for-money.
